Practice Manager

The Opportunity

An opportunity for a Practice Manager has become available within Yadu Health Aboriginal Corporation (YHAC). The practice manager plays a very important role in maintaining our dedication to the delivery of excellence in health care and exceeding patient expectations, along with business development of the practice. A fantastic opportunity to join a well-established operated Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service as a Practice Manager in beautiful beach side rural location of Ceduna. The position is available to a person who has a proven and demonstrated record in health services management and is passionate about embracing and delivering on the challenges of an expanding, busy and diverse Aboriginal health Service. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the occupant of this position will form part of the Senior Management Team and be responsible for leading and overseeing the Clinical Team within YHAC.

Working Arrangements:

  • Initial appointment is for a 12 month contract will apply.

  • Position has a probationary period up to six months.

  • Minimum 2 years management experience, preferably in a healthcare field.

  • Flexible full-time hours 37.5 per week worked across 5 days

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and Manage practice and clinical leaders and teams.

  • Review of staff performance appraisals and training needs.

  • Managing clinical reporting for funding bodies.

  • Manage the function of approvals for timesheets and leave of clinic teams.

  • Provision of advice and high level management.

  • Make appropriate decisions with exceptional focus on attention to detail and act as a balanced and measured for the corporation during any decision making process.

  • Demonstrate positive cultural leadership within a challenging yet rewarding service environment.

  • Identify, investigate and work collaboratively with team members to resolve patient/customer and employee complaints

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in working with Aboriginal people and communities.

  • You will possess a Certificate IV or a Diploma in Practice Management or equivalent, or similar tertiary qualifications. Knowledge of medical software and Medicare system (Services Australia) highly regarded e.g. (billing/batching/online claiming) MBS item interpretation,

  • Management nKPI’s of the practice and clinical teams to meet the Corporation required outcomes • Strong leadership, communication, mentoring and motivational skills.

  • Have a great attitude and strong work ethic in addition to the ability to work as part of a team displaying passion about the role and take pride in seeing a successful practice grow.

  • Knowledge of Accreditation and reporting to funding bodies.

  • A professional manner and presentation with well-developed organisational and time management skills

Practice Nurse

The Opportunity: An opportunity for a Practice Nurse has become available within Yadu Health Aboriginal Corporation (YHAC). As the Practice Nurse you will provide contemporary care to clients in the Yadu Health Aboriginal Corporation Medical Practice. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive, accountable, and high-quality nursing care.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full Time position up to 12 months employment contract with possibility of extension.

  • Position has a probationary period up to six months.

  • Flexible full-time hours 38 per week worked across 5 days.

About You:

  • Have a minimum 3 years post graduate experience, experience in Indigenous health will be well regarded.

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment for the best client outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience providing nursing care to individuals.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Hold a relevant qualification as a Registered Nurse and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).

  • Have a minimum 3 years post graduate experience.

  • Experience in working with Aboriginal people and communities.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and be flexible to meet the reasonable demands of the position.

  • Professional and effective behaviour, interpersonal and communication skills including computer literacy

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to clients of YHAC.

  • Work as a collaborative team member in the clinic/practice team. ​

Aboriginal Peer
Connector
Community Activator
Medical Reception & Administration Support Officer 

The Aboriginal Peer Connector will work within Yadu Health Aboriginal Corporation (YHAC) to increase Aboriginal youth aged 15 to 29 years accessing sexual and mental health activities including screening and community programs. This position is responsible for assisting Aboriginal youth with a range of health and health related matters, identifying ways to improve health outcomes, working within the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Program with the clients, to ensure the achievement of agreed performance indicators and improvement of health outcomes of clients. The Peer Connector will participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of health activities as appropriate.

The Peer Connector will:
• work in a way that is appropriate to gender sensitivities operating in the       Aboriginal Community
• be respectful to clients and treat all information about the client with           strict confidentiality
• work with and under the supervision of other more experienced qualified     staff
• be able to competently use the computerised clinic database and enter         relevant data into the system consistently and accurately

The Peer Connector will work closely with the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney, in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a research project aimed at increasing STI testing among Aboriginal youth. This will give the individuals an opportunity to develop and enhance capabilities in public health research.

• Initial appointment 12 months will apply
• Position is Part-Time with a probationary period up to six months.
• Part time hours of 2 days per week worked

The role of the Community Activator is responsible for the provision of assertive outreach and advocacy to Aboriginal people living with a disability, their families and carer’s in a culturally sensitive manner, breaking down barriers to accessing the NDIS and development trust and rapport.

 

The Community Activator sits within the Program’s area of YHAC and working broadly across Aboriginal DisAbiiltliy Alliance Projects and will assist in achieving the overarching objectives across the Eyre and Western region of South Australia.

• Initial appointment up to 30/06/2023 with possibility of extension.

• Position is Full time role with a probationary period up to six months.

• Full Time role working 37.50 per week Monday to Friday.

We currently have two roles available that may be filled as two part time roles or 1 full time role across both positions.

*Medical Receptionist Part time .4 (or full time with Administration and Support Officer position)

As the Medical Receptionist, you will be representing Yadu Health Aboriginal Corporation as the first point of contact for clients and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for positively shaping the interaction that clients/visitors have with the corporation/practice, ensuring that you provide excellent customer service through all means of communication. You will also look after a range of administrative duties to ensure the smooth operations of the practice while supporting the allied health team and management.

Under the direction of the Practice Coordinator the position of Medical Receptionist will provide efficient quality reception and administrative services to patients, doctors, and clinical staff.

* Administration Support Officer Part time .6 (or full time with Medical Receptionist position)

The Administration Support Officer position is responsible for assisting with the delivery of efficient and effective administration support services to enable YHAC child health team to meet its business objectives.

The Administration Support Officer will provide administrative support as required, including organising meetings and appointments, maintaining filing systems, managing office supplies and data entry.

The position is accountable to the Practice Manager, via the Child Health Coordinator 



 

Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner
Aged Care 
Workers

As an Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner, you will be working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide timely, culturally safe and holistic primary health care to our clients, both within the community and clinical environments.

 

Yadu is looking for an Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners for our Child Health & Clinic Team to work Full time for 5 days a week up until 30/06/2023 with a possibility of extension. Applicants without AHPRA Registration or Certificate IV will be considered provided they have clinical experience and are willing to obtain the qualifications listed above.

 

Looking for suitably qualified candidates that will be responsible for the improvement, strong advocacy and promoting good health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members by working within the goals of the primary health care principles.

• Initial appointment up to 30/06/2023 with possibility of extension.
• Position is Full time role with a probationary period up to six months.
• Full Time role working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Seaview Village is a 24-hour residential aged care facility. We are seeking Aged Care Workers interested in both part time and casual shifts in our fully accredited facility in Thevenard.

Seeking candidates who have a passion for aged care, who would care for our residents as though they were their own loved ones. You will have a caring and responsible personality and be reliable.

s an Aged Care Worker, you will actively participate in all aspects of client care to provide a safe, clean, comfortable, secure living environment, including direct client care and support for all residents including those with a disability.

Preferably you will have a current Certificate III in Ageing. If not, it will be mandatory for you to undertake study undertake study to obtain.
• All position work across a variety of 24/7 shifts includes Day, Afternoon and Night Shifts.
• Part time positions are 54.25 hours per fortnight
• You will be paid in accordance with Yadu’ Enterprise Agreement.
• You must be reliable and willing to work as required including weekends.
• You must be prepared to undertake training as required.

Aged Care Workers are required to hold various DHS clearances as well as a Satisfactory Police Clearance.

You will be required to be fully COVID vaccinated as well as have up to date Flu vaccinations.
